Welcome to The Virginia Commonwealth University chapter of the Virginia Academy of Student Pharmacists Website

Through this organization, we hope we can all work together to provide you with valuable opportunities such as the chance for leadership, the opportunity to gain valuable experiences outside the classroom, opportunities to serve the community as well as educate them on health-related and pharmacy legislative issues, a chance to network with your peers and those already practicing the profession, and most importantly to create lifelong memories during your time here at VCU/MCV.

A Message from the President

I would like to welcome everyone back to school and I hope everyone had a great summer! This year looks as though it is going to be another exciting one for our VASP chapter. I would like to thank you for your support of the APhA Virginia Academy of Student Pharmacists chapter at Virginia Commonwealth University last year! Each member of our chapter plays a very important role. We needed your support and involvement last year to make our chapter strong and this year is no different. We know you share our pride in the accomplishments of the chapter and the contributions to our community and profession. Our APhA-ASP Chapter has established a tradition of excellence at VCU and would like to continue that tradition. We are an extremely influential organization that has great potential to make positive changes in the profession of pharmacy. Your continued involvement in VASP is greatly appreciated.

Our executive committee this year is composed of highly motivated and hardworking chapter members who have set the groundwork for another exciting year. Community service projects that are currently being prepared for this year include Operation Immunization, Operation Diabetes, Heartburn Awareness Challenge (new APhA-ASP nationwide project), Poison Prevention Week, the Lupus Booth and many more! The legislative committee will also play a large role in this year's success as the committee co-chairpersons have set up a voter registration drive, policy discussion forums for chapter meetings, educating the chapter regarding legislative issues and processes and Legislative Day at the State Capitol in January.

Membership renewal/sign-up will be conducted online this year. You can visit the "Members" or "New Members" portions of this website to find a link to complete your membership request. Thank you for your support of VASP. I look forward to a great year and I hope that this organization can supplement your educational experience with professional involvement on the local, state and national levels. Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time with questions regarding the organization. I wish you the best of luck this semester!

Sincerely,
  Brandon Jennings
