These whitewater programs all employ Team WAV members, here in Richmond, and around the world. If you are interested, they will stuff you in an inflatable rubber thing and let us push you down a river. If you want to take it a step farther, you can convince them to let us teach you how to kayak.

The American Canoe Association (ACA) is a nationwide, not for profit organization
that is in service to the broader paddling public by providing education on
matters related to paddling, supporting stewardship of the paddling environment,
and enabling programs and events to support paddlesport recreation.
(the ACA doesn't actually employ us, but they are the
industry standard for instruction and guiding)
Appomattox River Company began over 25 years ago with the same commitment
it has today
* to sell quality canoes and kayaks at fair prices
to as many paddlesports enthusiasts as possible;
* to know your needs and find you great buys;
* to follow through with service, integrity and staying power!
We employ a small staff of specialists in all branches of paddlesports. We are here to help you find those exciting great buys, we all enjoy.

The James River drops 105 feet over a seven-mile stretch in Richmond Virginia,
creating class I - IV whitewater!
The class I - IV whitewater hosts a convenient
recreation experience for rafters and kayakers. The James River runs directly
thru downtown Richmond and is known as the “best urban whitewater”
in the US. No other city in the US has class IV rapids within its city limits.
