Subject: 5th Annual Christopher Reeve Vigil From: ssscr@vcu.edu Date: 10/6/2008 5:01 PM "It is very tempting to give up, yet we have to find the will to keep going. But even when we discover what motivates us, we realize that we can’t go the distance alone." The Christopher Reeve "Nothing is Impossible" candlelight vigil will take place on Thursday, October 9 , 2008 at 8:00 PM outside on the Commons Plaza . This vigil is in honor of a man who knew that spinal cord injuries would one day be completely treatable. An avid supporter of embryonic stem cell research, what Christopher Reeve achieved as an advocate is invaluable and unrepeatable. There will be an opening address, followed by brief video tribute and the lighting of the candles for a moment of silence. Coffee and other refreshments will be provided. Also, just as a reminder, there is a general meeting on Wednesday, October 8 at 7:30 PM in Richmond Salons III of the Student Common. During the meeting, we will finish up all preparations for the vigil and beginning planning our next big event, the election review where we will discuss where the candidates stand and have stood on the topic of stem cell research. See you all soon! Katelyn Procci President Student Society for Stem Cell Research, VCU Chapter http://www.studentorg.vcu.edu/ssscr/
