MISSION STATEMENT
To serve the Virginia Commonwealth and Richmond by advocating on behalf of the Filipino American community through social, political, cultural and educational actions.
BRIEF HISTORY
Filipino Americans Coming Together started in Fall of 1995. What began as simple potlucks grew to be a great organization at Virginia Commonwealth University. It started at Felix Savellano's apartment, right in his living room. Various names were thought of, such as ADOBO (A Dose of Brown Origin). Eventually the word FACT came up, and thus became the acronym it is today. The first set of officers were chosen, which then started plenty of activities, events, and Culture Nights to come. The great thing about FACT was that it did more than just focused on Filipino activities and being around Pinoys and Pinays. They opened the club to anyone and everyone, having members of different nationalities and ethnicities to be apart of this group, to learn about their culture, traditions, and making new friendships that they would take with them even after college. This is how the legacy of FACT began, and since continue to grow having recently celebrated their 10th anniversary with numerous alumni in attendance.
