As for the human sexuality panel I was describing in the beginning of the semester, it will be held this friday, October 29th. I've already had a few people come up to volunteer, and as I specifically said, DO NOT JUST SHOW UP, please inform me in advance; either through AIM(Psychoneuroguy), email(fucc@vcu.edu), Cell(703 909 6235) or through the smsa website. This is just an e-mail just describing what's to happen in this weeks sexual minority student alliance.1.) Topic for this week: - Coming out as a straight ally? 2.) Some announcements - Due to the fact that reservation for HRL have been rejected, we're attempting to make the postponed date on October 27th, the week before halloween. More will be disclosed in the meeting. - I have information dealing with the stonewall democrats and they are interested in organizing members from every campus. Here is the link to their website, if you have any other questions, ask me after the meeting www.stonewalldemocrats.org - I know i've been making many announcements in regards to flyering/tabling, so for those who WANT to actually volunteer on passing out flyers and helping with tables on a monday/tuesday/wednesday, please IM me on my sn: Psychoneuroguy. The night before, Richmond Pride Coalition is holding a kick-off party from 7pm to 10pm at 4616 Monument Avenue. There is a sliding donation of $15 to $50, and in attendance will be many of the performances and hosts of the pride festival. If you're a Kerry/Edwards supporter, they are looking for volunteers for the next three weeks that would be willing to help make calls in support of the campaign. First and foremost, I would like to thank each and every person that attended our first meeting last week. Whether you're a returning member or someone new to the organization I do hope that you enjoyed it and continue your attendance, as we hope to make this year just as good, if not better, than any other year we've had here at VCU. Our next meeting is this Wednesday September 8th, at 10:00 PM. As always, we will first meet downstairs in the Student Commons and the meeting will be held in the Richmond Salon 1&2 upstairs(where we were last week). We will have information concerning volunteer opportunities with the Richmond Pride festival taking place very soon. Our discussion for this week will go into detail how your first week at VCU went, as well as your feelings on your sexuality (yeah, it probably doesn't make sense now, but it should be a good topic regardless). I just thought I'd leave a little note thanking everyone for coming out and supporting SMSA this past Wednesday. It was really good to see lots of old faces and even more new faces. I hope that all of you felt comfortable, welcome, and a part of the GLBT community here at VCU. I look forward to all of the events to be shared with QueerAction, and I hope that each and every one of you discover your part in making it all come together. We certainly can't do it without you.
