Ed Harriss Visit

This is Ed Harriss, the XSI expert. Ed was gracious enough to take time out his schedule to come to VCU and give the VCU students a few tips and tricks on XSI and talk to us about the computer graphics industry.

Here is Ed, during his morning lecture, teaching us a few tips in XSI. We learned about unknown hotkeys, hotboxes, script editors, different render passes, easier ways to do a render tree, and many other interesting XSI goodies.

Here is Ed at the evening lecture talking about the inner workings of the computer graphics industry. Ed spoke about what kinds of work he has done, what information in the business that is important to know, how a typical demo reel should look, and what types of things you need to get across to your future employer about your work skill and ability. We had an excellent turnout!

Jayson Walton

Jayson Walton, a former VCU student, was also at the lecture. Jayson has worked with 3D, compositing, has done some freelance work, and has worked for Disney.
