Clothesline Project, Fall 2008
Bearing witness to all individuals who have experienced sexualt assault or intimate partner violence.
The Clothesline Project is a visual display of vehicle for those affected by violence to express their emotions by decorating a shirt that is then hung on a clothesline to be viewed by others as testimony to the problem of violence in our society.

For more information about the clothesline project and how it started, follow this link: www.clotheslineproject.org
If you are a survivor or a friend or family member of a victim, and you would like to make a shirt for this event, you can get supplies by calling Tammy McKeown (VCU's Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Services Coordinator) at 804-828-2085 , and you can pick up those supplies on Monday and Tuesday of this week, the 6th and 7th, between 9 and 4:30 from 'The Well' (The Wellness Resource Center), which is located at 815 S. Cathedral Place (down the street from the Student Commons, across from the Cathedral). After you've made your shirt (and it's had proper time to dry!), you can turn the shirt in at the same place, during the same times.
Also, on Wednesday and Thursday from 11-2 we will have a room set up in OMSA, the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, which is on the 2nd floor of the Commons (Suite 215), for people to make shirts during the Clothesline Project. *Please note, although the Clothesline Project will be on display from 11am-4pm on Wednesday and Thursday, the room to make shirts will only be open until 2pm.*
All supplies are free, and shirts can be submitted anonymously. Please make note of what each shirt color represents, so you'll know which one you should use.
