The Department of Medicinal Chemistry welcomes you to the Graduate Student Association's (GSA) web site. The Medicinal Chemistry (MEDC) GSA was founded in 2007
The objective of the MEDC GSA, a chapter of the Virginia Commonwealth University GSA, is to increase graduate student engagement in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and School of Pharmacy (SOP) activities, to provide graduate program governance, and to encourage professional growth in leadership and service.
The goals are to provide:
1. Experience in leadership roles, cross-disciplinary collaborations, cooperative relationships, organizational structure, teamwork and management skills.
2. Insight into academic affairs and processes, graduate education, and graduate programs in general.
3. A voice in the direction and management of their graduate program.
4. An outlet and conduit for the concerns of graduate students and to provide a forum for discussion of issues of concern to graduate students as a whole.
5. A mechanism for graduate students to obtain information from the Director of the Graduate Program regarding the specific requirements of the School's graduate program.
6. Increased visibility of Medicinal Chemistry as a graduate program and as a profession. |
