Central Virginia Chinese School

Central Virginia Chinese School (CVCS) is a nonprofit organization
founded in 1996. We are dedicated to teaching Chinese language and
promoting Chinese culture in the Central Virginia area for the general
public. We teach simplified Chinese characters and Chinese pin-yin
(the official Romanization system of Chinese) and use a series of
textbooks compiled specially for teaching and learning Chinese overseas.
All of our board members are volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to serve this purpose. |

We currently have about 110 students: 80 Students in the Westend Campus, and 30 in the newly established Southside branch. Among our students, there are children born to American Chinese, children emigrated from China, American children and adults who are interested in learning Chinese and Chinese culture, American parents and their adopted Chinese children. | |
