The Rams got their first taste of true baseball competition this
afternoon, against a very equally matched opponent - themselves.
With two full teams worth of
players, Teams 1 and 2 squared off at Hotchkiss Park in a three-hour
interaquad scrimmage. Stephen Blue and Brendan Sheehy started on the mound
for the respective teams. Luke Rhodes and John Castiglioni later relieved.
The game's attendance was
a VCU Club Baseball record: 3 - a trio of young locals stopped to watch
the action.
"We saw a lot of good
things out there, and a lot of things we need to work on," said
Castiglioni. "Overall, we're looking good - getting this game experience
really helped us out alot."
